Choose PAC or STAC
For a UK mobile number you want to retain, text PAC to 65075 from a single line or use the provider’s official route. STAC to 75075 is for a move without keeping that number. Accounts with several numbers can need another method.

Read the response
Examine early termination information and any credit position. A phone repayment may remain separate. An unused code lasts 30 days; simply requesting it does not complete the change.

Hand over securely
Give the valid code to the receiving network and confirm its timing. Keep old and new SIMs available. If cancellation already happened, ask promptly: Ofcom describes number retention in most cases within one month after closure.
